"Owned by Pop Idol winner/singer Will Young
Bespoke renovation performed in 2018

William Robert Young, singer-songwriter, actor and petrol head came to prominence in 2002 after winning the inaugural series of the ITV talent contest Pop Idol, making him the first winner of the worldwide Idol franchise. His double A-sided debut single "Anything Is Possible" / "Evergreen" was released two weeks after the show's finale and became the fastest-selling debut single in the UK and Will still holds the fastest selling single for debut male artist of all time. His albums have spawned many songs that have achieved top ten positions in the UK, four of which went to the number one spot, and he has accumulated multiple honours, including two Brit Awards from 12 nominations, and estimated worldwide sale of over ten million albums. Alongside his music career, he has acted in film, on stage and in television. For his performance in the 2013 London revival of the musical Cabaret, he was nominated for the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical. A committed philanthropist, he has also released five books including ‘Anything is Possible’, ‘On Camera, Off Duty’ and his autobiography ‘Funny Peculiar’ in 2012.

In 2018 Will decided his passion for performing could be combined with his love of concerts and festivals and, deciding there was no better way to encapsulate his flair for the spontaneous, devised a festival/disco bus with a removable top thus enabling him to perform should he wish wherever and whenever he liked. The plan to build such a bus started in earnest with CSK Automotive chosen to bring the vision to life. Finished in Will’s chosen colour scheme and restored to a very high standard, the brief changed many times throughout the build to enable a more camper feel and the removable roof plan fell victim to one of those changes, but an ultimately more practical option was hit upon as Will can testify having taken it to many festivals throughout 2019. A ‘better than new’, restored, fabulous ‘disco bus’ with celebrity ownership is an enticing proposition and as soon as we can get out to festivals again this is the perfect mode of transport in which to enjoy them. There is also the opportunity to convert it further into a more comfortable camper - just make sure you turn up the stereo and enjoy as it was intended to be. As long as it’s a Will Young song of course."
