For Sale: 1979 Canterbury Freedom CF

I don't usually post campers here but this Canterbury Freedom CF is a rare and unusual conversion.
Besides the bull-bar and graphics, what stands out right away is the high-top roof. It has a very strange shape that looks to have the aerodynamics of a brick... Usually, on a short wheel base CF, a pop-top would be used for a camper or the body would be replaced for a bigger motor home style camper. That makes these high-top campers a strange mutant solution.
Anyway, I don't know enough about these conversions to really describe them, so I will leave you the photos and the sellers description.

"Bedford CF Canterbury
Freedom Motorhome
1979
2279cc Petrol. 4 birth. Tow bar.
Ladder and roof rack. Bull bars.
Spares or repair.
NO Brakes!!!
But does have handbrake. It will need to be trailered away.
This motorhome starts and drives. It has NO MOT!!!
It has a double bed above the cab and the table converts into another double bed. It has a hob and grill, fridge and boiler. It has a toilet / shower room and a wardrobe.
The bodywork could do with a bit of attention. The worst of it is the rear wheel arches, they have been tidied up on the bottom corners but really could do with a better job been done. Also some rust above the front doors. But the overall look of the van is good. The underneath looks good with no visible signs of rot. So I think there will be no welding required for its MOT.
One of the rear windows has been smashed recently. I have cleaned all the glass up. It is the same as the other side so that one can be used as a template. It is a flat so perspex can be used if a replacement can not be found.
The inside also could do with some TLC.
The hob and grill works. I have fired up the boiler but not checked if it works properly. I do not know if the fridge works.
The 12v lights inside work ok. All the outside lights work ie, head lamps, side lights, indicators, brake lights. Wipers, washers and horn work ok.

I live 1 mile from J4 M5 South Birmingham. Anyone is welcome to view. Please email, text or call 07974375586 for any questions. Cash on collection only."

For Sale: Bedford CF 250 Murvi - UK

I don't think I have posted any MURVI's here before, so here is one.
Murvi was one of a few conversion company's in the UK that converted CF's into day vans/campers. Nowadays it's rare to see one but if you do you can distinguish it from other conversions very easy by the paint job. Murvi's used a two tone scheme with horizontal stripes on the upper half, usually silver/gray or gold/brown.
It looks like MURVI is still in business but there is no mention of there Bedford history on there site www.murvi.co.uk...
Here is your chance to own one. It looks to be in rough shape but the starting bid is low with no reserve price. It has the 2.0L petrol engine with 120,000 miles and all the camping equipment inside. It even has some alloy wheels which are hard to find. Certainly worth fixing up one way or the other.

"This Murvi has been sorn off the road for the last 3 years. it had a pre mot check a few days ago. The van needs 4 new tyres, some minor welding to be done on the rear cross member, new metal brake pipes and some fuses and bulbs need to be replaced. The petrol gauge does'nt work and the body work is tatty. But would be a great restoration project or a nice rat mobile. The battery was charged and the engine runs fine but has no mot or tax.

The interior can be removed or rearranged to suit the occasion. There is a cooker which can be removed and placed in the van or under the awning, a sink and fridge freezer. it even has a bar to store your bottles. pimms aclock style. Both front seats are captain seats and the passenger seat is easily removed for extra space. The back seating folds down into a double bed. This van is made for music festivals or could be up for a trip round europe with some work on it.

The van has only had 3 owners and has 120616 miles on the clock. i have a folder full of previous mot/history. i would love to keep the van but don't have the space or time. "

O blog Caça Classicos está sempre com o radar ligado e captou este CF1 de 1978 em Guimarães.
Será que é o mesmo que foi avistado há um ano atrás?

For Sale: Pink Pickup custom CF - Australia

This is the third CF that is for sale from the same seller in Beresfield, Australia.
You may remember the two other vans I posted last month (here and here). This custom CF is just as cool as the others but it's the chassis cab version. You can build a pickup bed to match the cab. Not much more is needed to finish off this CF. The custom front end looks really well done and overall it looks good but the pink paint job is something that not everyone will like... The other vans didn't reach there reserve price, lets see if this one sells.

"1975 CUSTOM BEDFORD CAB CHASIS. CUSTOM PINK PAINT JOB, SPEEDY CALIFORNIAN RIMS 15x10 ON REAR AND 15x8 ON THE FRONT, 4 WHEEL DISC BRAKES, THE DIFF IN IT IS OUT LATE MODEL HOLDEN CREWMAN UTE, CUSTOM INTERIOR HAS BEEN DESIGNED FOR IT WITH RACING SEATS THAT HAVE BEEN RE UPHOLSTERED TO SUIT THE TRUCK. IT HAS A HDT VK FRONT END ON IT. UHF RADIO AND CD PLAYER WITH 6x9 SPEAKERS, HAS A FULL SPECO GAUGE DASH IN IT AND THE FRONT END OF THE BEDDY IS ALSO FIBREGLASS. IT HAS A 308 HOLDEN MOTOR IN IT WHICH IS A VERY STRONG MOTOR, IT IS AN UNFINISHED PROJECT BUT AS YOU CAN SEE NOT MUCH MORE NEEDS TO BE DONE TO FINISH THIS AWESOME BEDFORD."

ebay: 1976 custom CF - Australia

Here is another very cool custom CF for sale in Australia. It's all tricked out from the motor to the steering wheel, check out the photos. The orange/yellow/brown color combination is true 70's style as are the port holes and zoomies. I'm not a fan of bull bars on vans but that's a typical sight down under...
The starting bid is at AU $10,000.00

"Bedford CF van, 4 seater, small block Chev, recently reconditionedstage 2 turbo 350, Koni adjustable shocks, HZ 10 bolt diff, dual fuel, electronic ignition, three tone two pack paint, alarm, central lock and CD player.

I bought this vehicle with all modifications already engineer approved and I have made no changes other than a set of 12 slot rims. Original rims that where approved and purchased with the vehicle are included. The vehicle was reupholstered and resprayed approximately 10 years ago and has been garaged all the time. It has only been driven a handful of times in the past 10 years, so paint and mechanicals are in excellent condition for age with minor day-to-day scrates. It has XC front bucket seats, can’t remember what the rear bucket seats were off, Cortina I think? Could use a nice set of Recaro seats, but never got around to it and I was reluctant to modify the existing engineered seats. Car has been registered every year in the ACT since I’ve owned it. I can arrange to sell with or without registration (additional costs for registration will apply over and above sale price).

The only issues I have ever had with this car in the past 10 years have been leaking three core radiator, alternator and battery, and I recently replaced the distributor. I have only put approximately 50,000 to 60,000 kms since I have owner it.

These vans are quickly becoming collectables and very sort after. I was advised by the previous owner that this vehicle was featured in one of the 70’s ‘Vans’ magazines, so I have intentionally kept it in the exact same 70’s theme and colours.

I’m sure I will regret selling, however, it no longer suits me as I now have a family and need a modern vehicle. I will consider a swap for a Turbo Diesel Dual cab Ute or 2005 and onward Volvo XC70 or XC90.

Vehicle is advertised elsewhere and I reserve the right to withdraw from Auction.
Number plates are not included."
