Na continuação do projecto da semana fica aqui o resultado final:

Não está perfeito, para isso precisava de muitas mais horas a passar a lixa e polir, mas penso que ficou muito melhor do que estava...

ebay: 1981 Cavalier Coachman

Up for sale on ebay is a 1981 Cavalier Coachman CF. As I mentioned in previous posts, these Cavalier conversions are quite rare to find today and this one looks like it's in much better shape than the previous ones that showed up on ebay: here and here. (The seller actually commented on one of those posts)

This Cavalier is also different as it has a full high top and could possibly be a one-off custom.

The van is running but the seller says that the 2.3 L petrol engine with 87000 miles and brakes may need to be looked at. Also claims that it "cruised comfortably at around 70 on the motorway". Inside you can see the plush upholstery, the swivel captain's chairs, table, kitchen camping equipment is all there with wood trimmings. Looks all good in it's 80's styling. Body wise there's a small dent, some rust and overall the van needs a complete overview as would be expected if you want it in top condition.

The starting bid is £500 and I don't know the reserve price but from what I have seen recently this Cavalier is worth £1000 to £1500. It just needs to find the right owner.

ebay: Bedford CF MK1 van

Today's ebay find is this all original 1972 CF which the seller calls a survivor... If it survives or not will be up to the buyer because this MK1 has plenty of rust as you can see in the photos. The color is actually listed as being green... The slant 4 1.6 engine doesn't run either but what makes this van interesting and gives it a chance in being restored is the fact that it has front sliding doors on both sides which is a bit unusual.

The bid started off at 25 GBP and there's no reserve so this could end up being a good deal for someone, even if only for parts.

Projecto da semana: Polir

Esta semana estou a tratar de polir a tampa de admissão. Já fiz umas peças pequenas no passado e sei que isto vai demorar varias horas a fazer mas acho que no final vai ficar muito bem.

Já tinha passado uma escova de arame e só com isso já tinha um aspecto melhor.
O processo agora vai ser passar a lixa (à mão), lixa grossa, fina e depois lixa de água. Quando tiver muito bem liso e sem nenhuma risco começo a polir. Para isso tenho um berbequim, um mandril proprio, um "dremel" para os cantos mais dificeis de chegar, e massa de polir. Infelizmente só tenho massa fina o que vai tornar tudo mais difcil, pois devia primeiro passar umas massas de polimento mais grossas mas não consegui encontrar nenhuma nas lojas locais...
No final da semana espero que isto esteija a espelhar como se fosse cromado! :)

A fully customized CF2 powered by a 3.5L fuel injected Rover V8 engine, auto transmission and loud chrome side pipes!
