It seems that all the Bedford CF's in South Africa are customized. The engine swaps are usually a V6 or V8. This 1979 CF features a 4.0 Lexus V8 and auto box, a reliable and popular choice in South Africa. It also follows the modern trend of large diameter rims with low profile tires and they fit the arches perfectly!
Other major upgrades include: power steering, front disk brakes and a BMW front suspension.
Up front it looks real good with that molded in front bumper and what looks to be blacked out head lights. The two tone paint job is real slick too. When you walk around to the back it gets a bit odd with a strange mural painted on the closed rear section. You can't really call this a "panel van" when you have opened up windows all the way around... Now you need some window blinds for that bed in the back...
A carpeted dashboard also isn't the prettiest thing to look at but overall from what I can see in these photos this is a great custom van.
