Rallying with Russell Close - Ireland 1982

"A few more Circuit of Ireland pictures from 1982. Yes leprechauns do exist, and this wee fella (servicing for one of the McCartney brothers was kind enough to take the shot of the 4 of us on top of the van. This was a typical road side service area, timed in and out and usually allowing around 12 to 14 minutes from in to out controls. Wasn't often that the chance to chill and take photos arose!"

"some old photos - servicing on the 1982 Circuit of Ireland Rally with Russell Close's GpA Manta that won the GpA championship. That's a very young me with 2 booted feet on my shoulders and the car is pictured at a GM dealer Sport day at Silverstone in Summer 82shortly after the Scottish Rally."

"But of course it wasn't just the rally crew that had their car. The service crew had our own "home". in this case for 8 days on the 1982 Circuit of Ireland Rally. Probably the best week I've ever had at an event :-) This long wheelbase CF had the original Berlinetta seats from the rally car fitted and so as not to be left out 3 of us had our names and "Blood Groups" painted on the cab doors!"
