Vende-se: Bedford CF 97K60 - Portugal
Esta Bedford CF caixa-aberta de 1981 está à venda na Marinha Grande. O preço é bom mas precisa de um restauro, principalmente na caixa de madeira. Estas caixa-aberta tinham o chassis comprido e rodado duplo atrás com jantes de 6 furos. A curiosidade desta CF é que tem as portas de uma funerária... se repararem bem nos vidros, tem um formato diferente com rebordo cromado e o friso também era um elemento que colocavam nas CF alteradas.
"Carrinha pronta andar com inspecção até Junho toda pronta andar com muito bom motor, precisa dos arranjos em relacao a carroçaria. Como podem ver ta em muito mau estado.
Tem duas anotações, quais sao elas, direção desalinhada, Travao de mao a trvar mais de um lado.
Motivo de venda: comprei na esperança que o meu pai a quisesse arranjar carroçaria, mas ele nem Se esta pra chatear, contudo carrinha com muito bom motor pra ir a lenha. Cumps

Road Games (1981)

A proper Australian horror road-movie from the 80's has to feature a Bedford van.
I just watched the 1981 film "Road Games" and it checks off that box. The van, of course, belongs to the "bad guy" and actually is an important character in the film. It's a fully customized CF with a Easy Roller body kit and murals.
The film also includes a young Jamie Lee Curtis that plays the role of a female hitchhiker... you see where this is going. I'm not going to give away the story but I will say that the ending is a bit ridiculous.
Check out the great artwork on the original poster above. They don't do illustrations like that anymore. In fact the modern DVD release of this movie has a photo of Jamie Lee on the cover.

VANTOM
You don't need to many modifications on a CF to make it look better. Have a look at "Vantom" from New Zealand - put on some polished jelly bean mags with fat white letter tires, a sidepipe, some mesh behind the grille, small chrome mirrors and some air vents in the hood and this CF looks the business!
If you spot this CF in your rear view mirror it looks like a mean bull breathing down your neck!
It's worth the extra time and effort a good paint prep and spray to give it that extra shine.

I have owned the can for many years, and being a restorer and dealer, I have always tried to keep it in very good condition, mostly the body, as most that I have seen and owned over the years have had major rust issues.
I will start with the body, it has been back to bare metal in most of the important areas on several occasions over the past 14 years, any rust has been removed, new steel welded in and rust proofed from behind, KO66 has just again been sprayed into all the box sections and behind the most recent welding.
All window seals were re-done 2 years ago, but some were not fitted well and rust started again, so welding has been completed yet again, and I decided to re-fit the seals with the best sealant I could find.
Paint is only 12 months old, but I have photos from over the past few years, the new top coat was the result of badly fitted window rubbers. I have kept the body standard other than mild custom work, like the removal of badges, custom bars ect, with the idea as a collectors car, it can easily be returned to standard. The flames are in custom made pearl, and have an underlay which I doubt you will see in the photos, which is snake skin design, very unique, I kept the colour of the main body original.
I believe it will be one of the best bodied Bedford’s left on the road, now for the rest;
I have the original 173 motor with still ran well, but opted to fit an ex race engine to gain power and top end, it is a 186 bottom end, ported head, big cam, roller rockers, running a 350 Holley (it needs bigger) The Dual fuel system was fitted around 7 years ago, and I have modified a custom gas hat to suit, I fitted a custom made hi-stall convertor, and the transmission has recently been replaced, it has extractors and a sports exhaust, custom in take system so it is reliable, sounds great, and has plenty of power over the original drive line.
Brake upgrade is engineered stub axles, HZ V8 callipers and disks, and original rebuilt Bedford rear brakes, machined to be matching HQ stud pattern, capable of accepting V8 conversion.
Sound system, floors were stripped, body tarred, so were all inner seals, top of the range sound deadener fitted, new carpets, MP4 Din 3 deck, supports Bluetooth, DVD, ect, deck runs 4 speakers, hidden in the custom dash and under the power seats, powered pre-out runs custom amp powering 2 x 6/9’s and two roof mounted 6 inchs, big amp powers 2 x hidden boxed Clarion subs, second battery powers twin amps which run two pro series clarion subs, sound system is set up for clarity and all amps are limited to protect the system. Roof mounted drop down Screen is included but not fitted, also included reverse cameras and separate 7 inch screen.
The Van seats 4, fronts are SAAB black leather power and heated seats, rears are commodore with seat belts, I have another mid seat to make it a 5 seater, but it has seat belts to make it a 7 seater, currently has raised bed in the rear, and external side windows open as per a campervans, rear bumper is a step up in steal, front is custom rolled alloy.
All suspension bushes were replaced around 40,000 klms ago, car drives very well, sounds excellent and gets attention where ever it goes, as such is a great daily driver as I have been using it, or a weekend toy, and will be an excellent long term investment for any collector.
